VR (Virtual Reality)

Pigasus File Naming convention

Pigasus automatically detects popular file naming conventions for 3D and surround 360/180 videos/images such as those outlined in the oculus support center for oculus video and will auto switch to that viewing mode when playing those videos/images.

Currently Pigasus VR Media Player recognizes the following file naming conventions and will auto switch your videos/images appropriately once it encounters them:

– side by side 3D video: “_3DH”, “_3DPH” and “_LR”
– over under 3D video: “_3DV”, “3DPV” and “_TB”

– full side by side 3D video: “_3DHF”, “_3DPHF” and “_LRF” – full over under 3D video: “_3DVF”, “3DPVF” and “_TBF” – reversed side by side 3D video: “_3DHR”, “_3DPHR” and “_RL” – reversed over under 3D video: “_3DVR”, “3DPVR” and “_BT” – reversed full side by side 3D video: “_3DHFR”, “_3DPHFR” and “_RLF” – reversed full over under 3D video: “_3DVFR”, “3DPVFR” and “_BTF” – 360 surround video: “_360” and “_MONO360” – 180 surround video: “_180” and “_180x180” – 180 surround spherical fisheye video: “_180F” and “_180x180F” – 200 surround spherical fisheye video: “_200F” and “_MKX200” – 360 surround equiangular cubmapped video: “_360EAC” – Custom FOV surround spherical fisheye video: “_xxxF (xxx is a number between 90 and 360)”

Examples:

  • myVideo_180.mp4 (a 2D 180 surround video)
  • myVideo_360_LR.mp4 (a side by side 3D 360 surround video)
  • myVideo_360_RL.mp4 (a reversed side by side 3D 360 surround video)
  • myVideo_3DV.mp4 (an over under 3D video)
  • myVideo_3DHF.mp4 (a full side by side 3D video)
  • myVideo_3DH_180F.mp4 (a side by side 3D 180 spherical fisheye video)
  • myVideo_360EAC_3DH.mp4 (3D equiangular cubmapped video)
  • myVideo.mp4 (a normal 2D video)
  • myVideo_3DH_220F.mp4 (a side by side 3D 220 FOV spherical fisheye video)

DeoVR File Naming Convention

DeoVR supports the following projection styles (meshes):

  Flat 2D plane
  Equirectangular:
      180° FOV
      360° FOV
  Fisheye projection:
      180° FOV
      190° FOV
      200° FOV with MKX lens correction
      220° FOV with VRCA lens correction 

Eye location:

  Side-by-Side
  Top-Bottom

To play local files in the correct mode or add the appropriate flag from the following list to the file name:

For Stereo mode (equirectangular):

  _180
  _360
  _fisheye
  _fisheye190 \\Canon VR lens
  _rf52  \\Canon VR lens
  _mkx200
  _vrca220

To switch Screen Type:

  • “LR” or “3DH” or “SBS”
  • “TB” or “3DV” or “OverUnder”

For example:

  • Title_SBS_180.mp4 sets Side by Side & 180°
  • My_video_SBS_mkx200.mp4 sets Side by Side & 200°
  • Title_FB360_SBS_180.mkv sets Side by Side & 180 & Spatial sound
