Pets

Hazel

Hazel was born approximately 1/1/2002. April Shultz was the original owner, and Robert and I took her because she was not getting along with other dogs at Rick and Julie's home.

Hazel passed away 11/4/2019, put to sleep at Afford-a-Vet. She had not been eating, barely drinking, distressed breathing, confused.

Max

Max was born approximately 10/1/2007. He passed away 6/24/2019. He apparently had the disease DM, which causes the sheaths of nerves to breakdown. The usual symptom is wobbly/paralyzed back legs.

To dispose of Max's body (6/25/2019), I contacted:

QAR (Bud)253-847-7220

They charged $140, $50 for disposal plus $90 for transportation.

German Shepherd Sisters

Purchased the pair for $1300 on 11/29/2019 from Craigslist Ukrainian man, 253-208-7816. Address 3108 38th Ave. NW, Gig Harbor 98335.

He said they were born July 22, 2019. So they are a bit over four months old. They were very skinny. Fed them quite a bit when I got them home.

The Mom was very nice. Dad not present, owned by breeder's distant relative.

[11/29/2019]

Xena and Molly are now almost 11 months old.

Xena75 lbs.
Molly57 lbs.

6/13/2020

I think Xena was 30 pounds, and Molly was 27 pounds when I bought them.

Molly

During June, 2025, Molly started being more fatigued and started breathing more rapidly.

  • June 23, 2025 - Took Molly to Clover vet ($430) for initial blood testing because of fatigue and strange choking
  • June 25, 2025 - Clover vet ($527) for additional blood testing
  • June 26, 2025 - Returned Molly to Clover vet for additional blood testing
  • June 28?, 2025 - Robert noticed Molly's right eye out of place
  • June 30, 2025 - Returned to Clover vet ($169). Took X-rays, showing cancer in Molly's lungs. Refunded 2nd blood test, additional for Prednisone
  • July 2, 2025 - Took Xena and Molly to Renton dog park. Molly had good energy
  • July 3, 2025 - Took Xena and Molly on walk down 110th. Molly seamed too weak to continue, so returned home
  • July 4, 2025 - Molly ate some turkey meat, but had poor appetite
  • July 5, 2025 - Put Molly to sleep at BoosterPet Vet Care, 17909 108th Ave. SE, Renton 206-848-1187

During the early morning of July 5, Molly had a hard time breathing. She might have had a slight problem seeing, and was somewhat distant, probably because of diminished lung ability. It sadly seemed like she was suffering. Couldn't take Molly to usual vet because they are not open weekends.

Xena

After Chief passed away on 7/25/2025, Xena is the last remaining dog. She is a little sad, but has lots of excitement when there is activity.

She weighs about 91 pounds [7/28/2025]

Xena Vet Visit - Genital Dried Blood, Scratching, hock scabs

Chief

This is Robert's dog. He passed away in my house on July 25, 2025, 4 p.m. of natural causes. Fayla was nearby and was comforting him the whole time. He was about 15.5 years old.

I had taken him to the vet (BoosterPet Vet Care) to see if there was things that I could do to make him comfortable. He took an ultrasound and saw a mass pressing on Chief's intestines. The vet was kind and didn't do any other things, such as rabies shot, because of Chief's advanced age.

I had Chief at my house for the past 3 weeks. He had been happier than usual.

We buried him last night in my back yard. [7/26/2025]

Chief Last Vet Visit

Zeus

Purchased new dog via Craigslist rehoming (paid $200 as a gift). Here's the ad:

Zeus is one to two years old, according to the vet.

I rescued Zeus from a bad situation. A homeless person tied him to a pole at my job and left him in the sun. He was skinny and in poor shape. I’ve had him several months now. He is now fixed and vaccinated. He is back up to a healthy weight.

Zeus is a super sweet and affectionate dog. He wants to be right next to you 24/7 and all he wants to do is snuggle with you on the couch. He is well behaved in the house. He gets along great with other dogs. I have two other dogs that he stays with and plays with all the time. He has been around children ages eight and up and loves kids. I have seen no concerning signs, but have not witnessed him with children any younger than that.I have worked on manners with him and some overall behavior stuff. He responds well to training and would do great with someone who has the time to invest some training in him. He has a few things that need some work, but are minor. He digs small holes on occasion, but not trying to dig under the fence. He does have puppy energy and will chew some things he shouldn’t if left unattended for too long. Mostly small plastic items, no furniture or anything devastating. He loves to run.

Zeus needs someone who will be home with him during the day and has a decent size yard. I currently have 1 acre that he runs daily.

I am asking a $100 rehoming fee. This is a fraction of the money I have spent saving him. He is a really good dog and deserves a good home. His adoption will require a home visit and to meet any other dogs you may have. Txt is best (360-508-4733). Leave a message if you call.
