Haven't flown FSX for a while, because I had problems installing it with Windows 10. Read advice on line to copy the contents of the FSX installation disks 1 and 2 to the SSD, the install from there. I did this, and it seems to be working much better.
Installed to c:\fsx installation is from c:\fsxinstall

When running, got error complaining about failure to Activate FSX.

Tried a procedure to create a new user account and reinstall there. This worked, but when going back to my usual user account, still getting the error.
Found fix on microsoft.com, He told me to go into the FSX folder and to right click on FSX.exe choose properties and uncheck the Run in Compatibility Mode box. Then the activation went through with no problem. and this worked for me. However, after installing PMDG 737NGX, the problem returned.
