Seems like not too long afterward, they published X3. Sticking with X2 for now. Purchased Platinum drum kit Rock Legends Kit 1 Appears to be installed at: c:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Session Drummer 3\Contents\Programs\Acoustic\Platinum Samples Legends Kit 1.prog How to silence tracks so that they stay there but don't do anything (like to back up something): Click the "A" for "Archive" button. This keeps it from doing anything, and also improves PC performance. Had some drop outs when playing back Classical Blaze near the end when using the Behringer Mixer/output device. Fixed problem (apparently) by changing the priority in Preferences->Driver Settings->ASIO Panel->ASIO tab-> Application Priority from normal to above normal. ===== Troubleshooting ===== ==== Latency ==== When connecting a keyboard through Sonar to Garritan piano using ARIA VST plugin, was experiencing a lot of latency. Tried adjust sound settings, even changing out the sound module. On temporary solution was to remove one of the unused VST synth instances which was an ARIA VST plugin. Fixed problem immediately. Perhaps there is a practical limit to the number of ARIA VSTs in a project. 5/29/2017 However the problem returned. There is a button "PDC" Plugin Delay Compensation that when lit, seems to turn off the latency. Read about this * https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=SONAR%20X3&language=3&help=Recording.23.html Also noticed that the FX button, which turns off audio effects, had effect on the strange latency 6/1/2017 The problem manifests when the following are true: * Garritan piano using ARIA VST plugin is active * The MIDI channel for the piano is active, which causes MIDI echo to be engaged * There is an instance of Sforzando elsewhere in the project * That Sforzando has an audio effect attached. * The Sonar project is saved When the Sforzando instance is deleted, or frozen (which causes an Audio file to be created and played from), the latency problems appear to go away. Tried to research if Sforzando is causing Latency, and if that can be turned off, but haven't discovered anything yet. Noticed that I had the Sforzando in a combined track (MIDI plus Audio) which was hiding an audio effect that I had added - a EQ from Sonar (trying to remove lows). When I turned off that effect (and saved the Sonar project), problem stopped. 6/3/2017
