======= FreeCad ====== * https://freecadweb.org/ * Best Tutorials are by TheHardwareGuy in YouTube * https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bosJdm2iEKw ===== Object Tree ===== * Contains all of the parts of your model * Contains a history of how they were made * Can group objects by clicking top-level object, select ''Create Group...'' a folder appears, then drop objects into these folders. Can show/hide by select a group and pressing space bar ==== Object Properties ==== * Click an object, then a property window comes open that can be modified. The particular properties that appear are specific to the object selected. * ===== Work Benches ===== * **Draft** - Makes draft objects(?) * **Part Design** - Builds parts from parametric sketches. A "Main" work bench, offering great control, constraint-based * **Part** - Making CAD parts. An older work bench, has primitives like cube and cone. ==== Draft ==== Tools here can draw right into the 3-D space. **Construction Tools** Items drawn when "Construction" is on, end up in a special **Construction** folder which can be hidden with space bar. For example, draw something in Construction, align things to it, then turn off the Construction object. **Constraints (in Draft Workbench)** Can lock down the coordinates and other properties. Can press X, or Y to constrain, or shift. **Snaps (in Draft Workbench)** Use some of the Snap tools. (Green icons.) **Modify (not just change Draft Workbench items, can change anything)** Blue icons in the Draft Workbench. * Rotate * Move * (others) Read in the Wiki to see how to use the tools. **Plane Control** Allows you to draw at an offset from the main coordinate system. Can use to draw on different floors of a house, for example.
